Shelfie Bio: Amelia

Welcome to my shelfie bio ! My name is Amelia and I’m a Teen Advisory Board member with UCPL. I have my little bookcase in the corner of my room that acts as my little library. Yes, that is a Grogu (Baby Yoda) arm sticking out; he’s shoved in the crack, but he’s chilling I promise.

On top of my bookshelf, I have my grandpa’s hat from the military. He gave it to me a few years back and he means a lot to me, so it sits right up top. In the mason jar and yellow shadow box I have all my flowers and corsages from every single highschool dance and date, I’m a hopeless romantic. On the wall, I have a cross hanging that was used at my baptism as a baby. The rest are just random little trinkets that people have given to me.

My first two shelves are my fiction shelves. Of course I have the Harry Potter and Hunger Games, but I also have the Ink Spell, the Uglies, and the Confessions series. I also have a growing collection of John Green books, I’d say he’s one of my favorite fiction authors. I also have Every Last Word and All the Bright

Places on that shelf and I seriously love those books. On top of the books, I have the Percy Jackson and the Olympians The Lightning Thief 10th anniversary collector's edition which I treasure. I have a nesting doll and a nutcracker that my grandpa handmade and painted for me when I was a baby. The Peep stuffed animal was a must have for me because people very special to me call me “peep” and the walrus is my favorite animal so the walrus stuffie was a given.

On my bottom shelves, I have my classics and nonfiction section. The classics section includes The Iliad, Little Woman, Patty the Beaver and more. I have two copies of Fahrenheit 51, one which I’ve annotated and the other I got in case I wanted to read it over without seeing all my thoughts. I’ve also annotated Miracle at Philadelphia, The Outsiders, and To Kill a Mockingbird. I made the Among Us crewmates out of polymer clay one night to get my mind off school when I was very stressed and they ended up on that shelf. On the very bottom shelf, I have many books I’ve purchased for school. The AP U.S Government and Politics prep book was actually very useful and I did very well on the final exam. The Survival of the Sickest and the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks were bought for AP Biology. I also have Matthew Grey Gubler’s Rumple Buttercup book because I’m a big Criminal Minds fan, so I wanted to see what he wrote. Besides that, I have yearbooks from kindergarten to my sophomore year so far; I'm not sure how I'll fit my junior and senior year books in there so we'll see.

Thanks for reading my shelfie bio! Before I wrote and took pictures, I knew a few books were out of place, so this encouraged me to finally fix my bookcase like I’ve been meaning to for a very, very long time.
