There are always going to be times when life feels too overwhelming. However, there are ways you can take care of yourself and your mind. Welcome to Anjali's Self-Care Corner!

Benefits of Self Care
Engaging in self-care has been clinically proven to reduce or eliminate anxiety and depression, reduce stress, increase happiness, and more.
1) Mindful Coloring
Mindful coloring focuses on how we choose a color in a design to bring our awareness to the present moment. It is similar to meditation: we let go of thoughts about tomorrow or yesterday and what we will do when we finish.

2) Practice Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga is a softer style of hatha yoga practice. It is performed at a slower pace, has less intense positions, and includes a longer time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation.

3) Go on a Walk
Walking gives you time to think and get away from stressors. Getting out of a stressful environment, breathing the air, and feeling your body move are natural stress reliefs.

4) Use a Weighted Blanket
The pressure of weighted blankets puts your autonomic nervous system into “rest” mode. It can reduce your anxiety symptoms, such as a quickened heart rate or breathing. This can also provide an overall sense of calm.

5) Take a Detox Bath
A detox bath is a natural way to help remove toxins from the body. During a detox bath, ingredients like Epsom salt, ginger, and essential oils are dissolved into warm water in the bathtub. You will know it's working once you start sweating; this is your body expelling toxins.
