"What is better: the movie or the book?"
This debate has been going on for AGES but there's only one way to decide - you gotta see both! So this February season, I'm bringing you 3 books vs. movies adaptations to see which ones you prefer. Enjoy this little friendly competition with books vs. movies - rom com edition!

In the mood for a bittersweet rom-com? This one might just be it for you! I've read and watched the movie so I can personally guarantee that both routes - the movie and the book - are AMAZING. The way that John Green writes really gives this playful feeling with the undertone of how the two main characters, Hazel and Augustus, have their own battles that they must deal with. No spoilers (of course) but the acting for the movie was incredible as well. You may even recognize these two main actors from the movie Divergent, but instead of playing the siblings Beatrice and Caleb, Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort now play the lovers Hazel and Augustus. Whether you're in the mood for a sweet rom com or a good cry, this movie and book will definitely tug at your heartstrings.

Now, I don't think I could have made a books v. movie blog without mentioning one of the classics, "The Kissing Booth"! The movie is definitely more popular than the book, but that doesn't mean that the books are out of the game just yet. Typically, books have more of the plot description while the movies tend to be more lighthearted. This theme reflected this trope too as the book contains more of the drama aspect of the story while the beloved movies have more of a comedic sense to them. Either way, you can't go wrong by choosing this rom com classic this season!

I don't know about you guys, but one of my personal favorite tropes is the invisible string theory (iykyk). This duo basically embodies that trope as the two main characters, Hadley and Oliver, meet in an airport. Their story continues in the 24-hour long period in which they realize what their future has in store for them. Both the movie and the book embody that "love at first sight" feeling. Actors Hadley Lu Richardson and Ben Hardy both portray the characters well, to a point where you can practically feel the slow burn between them. If you don't know which rom com to pick, I'd say this is your best bet!
