Carowinds is the biggest amusement park in the Carolina’s. One of their roller coasters, Fury 325, was marked the tallest and fastest giga roller coaster in the world!
Whitewater Center
The whitewater center is well known and a favorite amongst North Carolinians. It is completely outdoors with a wide variety of activities to do. The center has things like whitewater rafting, zip lining, paddle boarding, and so much more. This is a perfect trip for a hot summer day.
Visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Said to be North Carolina’s “ultimate outdoor Mecca”, this park is the most visited national park in the United States. At the park, you’ll find different kinds of wildlife like deer, bears, and elk. There are so many things to do in this park, making it the perfect getaway vacation.

It has a fishing pier and is a part of the crystal coast section of North Carolina. This beach is highly rated for its many beach amenities, including grills, showers, pavilions, and parking.
Go to the Zoo
Just like beaches, North Carolina has a variety of zoos. Totaling 11 zoos sprinkled across the state, each is a unique experience. The largest zoo in NC is the North Carolina Zoo found in Asheboro. This zoo is spread across 2,600 wooded acres, and with 500 developed acres, it is the world’s largest natural habitat zoo!
Hiking
North Carolina is home to over 1,300 hiking and walking trails. These trails are a perfect opportunity to go out and see the natural wonders of NC in full bloom! You can find things like waterfalls, beautiful bridges, wildlife, and more throughout these trails.
