Disney Through the Decades

Okay, I know I’m late to the Disney+ party, but I’ve been killing it lately. Right now I’m into Disney through the Decades. It is a great time filler. The Disney Through the Decades Collection has stuff from the 1920s through 2010s. You get to watch all the cartoon classics like Steamboat Willie, The Three Little Pigs, and The Pied Piper and shows that we grew up on like That’s So Raven, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody and Jessie.

So far The Pied Piper (1933) is my favorite. In case you don’t know (or have forgotten) the story of the Pied Piper, here is a quick rundown. Basically, it’s about a kingdom that is filled with rats. Of course, people want the rats to go away. The king offers a pot of gold to whoever can get rid of the rats. Out of nowhere the Pied Piper appears and says he can do it. He plays his musical pipe and leads the mice out of town. When the Pied Piper asks the king for the gold, he refuses to pay. He says that all the Pied Piper did was play a tune. This makes the Pied Piper so mad that he decides that no kid should grow up to be like the king. He plays his tune and leads the kids to Happyland.

My mom says that it would NOT be cool for a random man to lure children to some unknown place these days, even in a cartoon. That just goes to show you how times have changed. Watch Disney Through the Decades and consider it your history lesson for the day.
