Bone Crier’s Moon revolves around the lives of Ailesse and Sabine. For Ailesse, she wants nothing more than to be the youngest Leurress in her famille. As for Sabine, she is perfectly content staying in the shadows and avoiding her Ferrier future altogether—that is until Ailesse is kidnapped during her rite of passage ceremony. Determined to avenge their father’s murder, Bastien and his friends set out to kill the Bone Crier’s that caused them pain. This novel is told through multiple perspectives and takes you through Sabine’s journey as she tracks down Ailesse, Bastien’s plans for revenge, and Ailesse’s battle to save everyone from the souls that must be ferried.
Bone Crier’s Moon is a fantasy that takes place in a french-inspired world. While this novel has romantic tones, it is the suspense that draws you in as the characters fight to save one another. The story utilizes mythology as Bastien and his friends attempt to understand the intricacies of the Bone Crier women. Bone Crier’s Moon is the first book in the Bone Grace series.
If you like Bone Crier’s Moon, you will enjoy The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco, and Furyborn by Claire Legrand.
