Supplies Needed:
White Glue
Paint (Acrylic or Tempera)
Olive Oil (or a similar composition oil)
Bottled Water
Stir Sticks
1 Cookie Cutter (this will get dirty)
Blank Canvas
Disposable Cups for Pouring (You will need a different cup for each color you plan to use)
Step 1:
In your first cup, mix together equal parts paint and glue. Make sure they are fully mixed together. (Keeping in mind that you would usually want to use a black or white for your base color, but you are not limited to this.) Once your color is mixed, add 1-2 drops of olive oil. The mixture should be smooth and easy to pour, if not, add bottled water to the mixture, one teaspoon at a time so it is not too runny.
Step 2:
Continue Step 1 for each color you plan to use in your pour.
Step 3:
Pour your base coat over the canvas in a thin even coat. It may be helpful to use a knife or tool of some type to help cover the canvas evenly.
Step 4:
Place the cookie cutter onto your white canvas.
Step 5:
(Here you may choose to pour directly into the cookie cutter, or into an empty disposable cup.) Begin pouring your remaining paints in layers on top of one another. When the cookie cutter is filled to the brim, set your paints aside and lift the cookie cutter off of your canvas, allowing the paint to expand out.
The drops of oil added to each mixture should keep the paint colors from running together, and allowing for the viscosity of the paint to thicken.
Step 6:
Maneuver your canvas into different angles allowing for the paints to move and cover your canvas.
Step 7:
Allow at least 24 hours to dry, then enjoy!
