Gratitude. Everyone's heard about it, but what does it really mean?
It's essentially the practice of appreciating everything and everyone around you as well as being thankful for everything you have. It's easy to disregard all the wonderful things in our lives, but with Thanksgiving right around the corner, I think it's time to finally find ways to express our gratitude this season! Here are some ways to practice gratitude in your life:
Morning gratitude: starting off your day with a list of things you're grateful for can really set the tone for the rest of your day. Instead of waking up and being overwhelmed by your to-do list, take some time to make a quick mental note of all the things you're grateful for. If you've got more time, find a journal and write these down everyday.
Express gratitude to other people: Taking the time to give a quick phone call to someone or write a letter to tell them how much you appretiate them can honestly make their day and also make you feel amazing. It's a win win!
Gratitude Meditation: You don't necessarily need to meditate, but taking the time to be mindful about the things in your life can help you acknowledge how fortunate you are.
Self care: The number one person you should be thankful for everyday is you! You've accomplished so many difficult tasks and dealt with many harsh situations. Thank youself for that! Indulge in any self care or activities that make you feel loved as well.
