Hard-Hitting Songs You Need to Hear

Over my 14 years of existence, I have listened to a great many of songs and I’m going to show you a few that I think are masterpieces.

5. Leather by Cody Johnson

Of all of Cody Johnson’s songs, this song has a certain soul in it that makes it stand out to me. This song is about the makings of a cowboy and how one evolves into a cowboy through rigorous tests of will. I love it because it is about maturity and the level of willpower required to be a cowboy, based on the standards of Cody Johnson.

4. Thinkin’ Bout Me by Morgan Wallen

This is one of those classic love failure songs about breakups and how much it hurts. But when it’s combined with Wallen’s smooth and slick voice, it elevates the emotion. It displays the spite and resentment found in the song. These different things all culminate into a song worth listening to in max volume.

3. God, Money and Love by Gabby Barrett

The wonderful part of this song; lies in the lyrics. It’s about 3 components of life that all take you to different places, emotionally and physically. It describes how each of these aspects makes you feel and how important they are to anyone. This song is special because from a young age I have been told that true happiness lies in a balance of wealth and health. This song complements that ideal nicely so it has always stuck with me. One thing you might have noticed so far is that I love my country music, and hey, it’s true.

2. Daylight by David Kushner

This song is about the sins committed by an unknown person who wishes to repent, but knows that deep down they won’t change. I love this song because of its intensity, the mood you enter when you are met with both a feeling of understanding and absolute truth. Combined with lyrics of great poetical meaning and the voice of David Kushner, you have yourself a banger.

1. Give Me Some Sunshine by Sherman Joshi and Suraj Jagan

This particular song is actually foreign. So when you listen to it, you might not understand it all but you will feel its heart. It’s about a young man who worked hard to get into a top college in India, but after working so hard, it proves to be too much for him. But not wanting to upset his family back home, he continues trying his best but eventually the stress forces him into a depression which eventually leads to his suicide. This song is considered his final words before he hangs himself. It’s all about how he wishes he could have another chance at life hoping it would be different. I love it because of how relatable it is, stress is a challenging part of life and for some people too much could mean the end.

That is my grand list of songs and after listening to all of them, do you agree?
