Have you ever want to make your own Pokémon deck? It will require 60 cards and I’ll show you how to make one!
To start, these are Pokémon cards. They show off elemental creatures known as Pokémon who can attack, defend, evolve, and more!
You can use these cards to battle other people. To do so, you will need a Pokémon deck. This will require a main Pokémon, supporting Pokémon, trainers, and energies.
1. Main Pokémon
Pick the Pokémon you want to be your main Pokémon. We’ll use Charizard:
In a deck you can have four copies of a Pokémon, so we'll add 4 Charizards. I’d also add 4 each of the other cards required to get Charizard. This is because a Pokémon must evolve to reach its final stage. For Charizard, this would be 4 Charmander and 4 Charmeleon.
You can also add Charizard EX, GX, Mega EX, V, V-Star, and V-Max. These provide additional stages to Charizard to make it even more powerful.
2. Supporting Pokémon
To get to your main Pokémon, you will need supporting Pokémon that will easily allow you you do so. For Charizard, fire types require discarding energies, so you will need Pokémon to help with that. Pokémon I have are Blaziken and Growlithe.
3. Trainers
3A. Items
You will need a variety of items for your deck. These can cause a change in cards battle, such as discarding or drawing cards. Some good items are a Poke Ball, Great Ball, Energy Recycler, or Energy Retrieval.
3B. Supporters
You will also need supporters. These will can provide you an advantage in battle, such as healing your Pokémon. Some good supporters are Pokémon Fan Clubs, Blacksmith, and Welder (for a fire deck specifically).
3C. Stadiums.
Then, you will need stadiums. These will provide an effect to the battle, such as boosting a type's power. A good stadium for a fire deck is the Altar of the Sunne.
4. Energies
To power your attacks, you will need energies. I’d add energies that are necessary before adding trainers. This will allow you add as many additional energies as you like as long as the deck only has 60 cards. For a fire deck, a special energy called a Burning Energy is useful.
5. Battle Others!
Now you can play with others. Explore other cards usefulness along the way. If you need a refresher on the rules, I would recommend checking out this video:
