Packed with painful truths, eye-opening messages, and a suspenseful tale, It Ends with Us is the powerful story of Lily as she navigates through life and love. Amidst opening up her own store and meeting Ryle, an upcoming neurosurgeon, Lily feel as if things can't get any better. However, a faithful incident shakes her world and morals. Lily and Ryle get along really well, and as questions about their relationship emerges, Lily feels suffocated. That is until she meets her first love again, whom she finds comfort in. As Lily feels stuck between two, she finds comfort in her favorite childhood cookies. So naturally, I had to recreate "the greatest cookies [she's] ever eaten."
Atlas's Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/4 cups of All purpose flour
1 teaspoon of baking soda
A pinch of salt (unless you use salted butter)
1 cup (2 sticks) of unsalted butter (softened to room temperature)
1/2 cup of white granulated sugar
1/2 cup of light brown sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract (feel free to add more for more of a vanilla flavor!)
4 tablespoons of milk
1 cup of chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 F or 180 C.
In a mixing bowl, combine the all purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate mixing bowl, beat your butter with a whisk until it is fluffy.
In the mixing bowl with the butter, add in your brown and granulated sugar. Beat for 2 minutes or until fluffy.
Add in milk and vanilla extract into the butter and sugar mix. Once again mix it until it is all incorporated.
Mix the dry ingredients (flour, salt, baking soda) into the wet ingredients. Make sure not to over mix.
Add in your chocolate chips. If the dough is too sticky to roll into balls, put it into the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Roll the dough into flat 1 inch balls and place them onto your baking pan a few inches apart.
Bake the cookie dough for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes. Enjoy!
