Kitchen Sink Cookies

The holiday season is ride with cookies. Neighbors agree to cookie swaps, families make gingerbread houses, and kids leave them out for Santa on Christmas Eve night. If you're looking for a new cookie recipe to try out this holiday season, then you've come to the right place! This fun, simple recipe will offer you one tasty treat.

You will need:

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda

  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 1/2 cups butter, room temperature

  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 1/2 cups light-brown sugar, packed

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Optional: (your choice of how much you want to add to the batter)

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips

  • 2 cups chopped pecans

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels

  • heaths crushed caramel bites

Step 1: Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2:

Mix your flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.

Step 3:

In a larger bowl, beat your butter on medium speed until smooth and creamy, which should take 1 minute.

Step 4:

Gradually beat in the sugars. This should take around 2 minutes. Then, add the eggs one at a time, beating after each. Then beat in the vanilla.

Step 5:

Add the dry ingredients to your wet ingredients. Stir until just combined.

Step 6:

Add in any of the optional ingredients you would like. I like to add heaths carmel bits, pretzels, crushed pecans, and chocolate chips. Others also add coconut. Add what you like!

Step 7:

Take out a baking tray and put a piece of parchment paper on it. Add the cookie dough onto the parchment paper and bake for 17-20 minutes, until they are golden brown around the edges.

I hope you enjoy this recipe. Happy holidays!
