Romance Novels to Read This Summer

It's almost summer and you know what that means - the lighthearted summer romance YA novels are being released. The first one on my list is from the summer romance queen herself, Kasie West. Her newest Sunkissed is a twist on one of my favorite movies, Dirty Dancing. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a forbidden romance especially when it has the swoon worthy Patrick Swayze in it (how has it been almost 12 years since we lost that amazing man...R.I.P. Patrick Swayze). Plus, the beautifully talented Jennifer Grey delivering one of my favorite lines in a movie "I carried a watermelon," because bless her, she is just as socially awkward as I am.

Well, enough about my obsession with Dirty Dancing, let's get on to what we are really here about...books! Sunkissed follows Avery as her family takes their annual summer vacation to a remote family camp. Following the betrayal of her best friend and her ex, Avery is sure this will be the worst summer ever. But then enters the charming bad boy, Brooks, who just happens to be a staff member, which means he is strictly off-limits. Avery soon finds herself on a path of self-discovery, and maybe this will be the summer she finally learns how to stand up for what she wants in life instead of constantly pleasing other people. By the end of the book you find yourself yelling "nobody puts baby in the corner."- insert dramatic dance number here.

So, what should you read next after you devour Sunkissed like I did? Be sure to check out some of these other YA summer romances I'm looking forward to this summer:
