Preparing for 1989 (Taylor’s Version)

Are you ready for it…? Taylor Swift’s newest re-recorded album drops October 27th, with eight new songs and a total of twenty-one tracks! Here are some fun ways to get into the 1989 spirit.

Bracelet Making:

Throughout Taylor’s Eras tour, fans have been making and exchanging bracelets with fun designs and their favorite lyrics spelled out. Partake in this tradition by getting together with your friends to make bracelets! You can use beads to spell out song titles and lyrics, or use string to weave together fun patterns. If you’d like a tutorial, there are hundreds of helpful videos across Tiktok, Youtube, and other social media platforms. Don’t forget to trade your bracelets with other Swifties!

Tour Documentary Watch Party:

We all know by now that Taylor Swift tickets are nearly impossible to get, so tour documentaries are a must-have for fans! To prepare for her upcoming album release, get cozy with one of Taylor’s various documentaries. With a Netflix subscription, Swifties can watch Miss Americana and Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour. You can also find The 1989 World Tour Live on Apple Music and Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions on Disney+. Keep an eye out at your local movie theaters, as the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour documentary releases for one day only, this October 13th!

Song Bracket:

For the hardcore Swifties who know and love nearly every song, you can create your own song bracket! In order to do this, you can choose a specific album, or a handful of your favorite Taylor Swift songs and line them up in a bracket. This is a fun activity that you can do on your own or with friends to determine your favorite song.

Cake Decorating:

If you love Taylor and treats, this is the perfect activity for you! Bake a cake and get some frosting and food dye. Be creative and decorate the cake to your Swiftie heart's content! Feel free to recreate an album cover, music video moment, or a picture of Taylor herself.

Phone Charms:

If you’d like to take a step up from bracelet making, try out a phone charm! This craft has a similar premise as the bracelets, requiring string and beads. You can use fun colors and letter beads to spell out album names or song titles. Your phone charm can be attached to your phone by looping it through the mute button hole on any phone case. If you need any help, look up a tutorial on Tiktok or Youtube!
