This is the second book in the Simon Snow series by Rainbow Rowell. Continuing from the first book, fresh off winning the last battle, Simon is feeling lost about his life and where he should go. He’s lost his magic, has a tail and huge dragon wings he can’t get rid of and is thinking of breaking up with his boyfriend. Simon’s best friend, Penelope, decides its take to make and huge change. We find our leading characters off on a new adventure to America to see their friend Agatha. Trouble seems to follow this group wherever they go. The United States is nothing like they expected, and why their magic not is working at times. After an eye opening run in at the Renaissance Fair leads to a magical battle, they're on the run. Their trip brings them in connect with so many different creatures, some good, some bad and some far worse than they could have imagined.


Wayward Son looks at what it’s like going into adulthood, trying to figure everything, sometimes all at once and sometimes never knowing what’s going to happen next. It dealing with the struggles of being in a relationship and the awkwardness that comes with it. Its first person read, jumping between characters, with a fast-paced story. By the end there is still more to come.
