I have always been interested in the weird and macabre. My childhood was ruled by copies of Goosebumps while my teen years were dedicated to hours of researching paranormal videos online. If it's scary or unexplained then it's for me. And nothing is more terrifying than the real world of true crime.
Somewhere in quarantine, this mild interest shifted to a full blown obsession. Most nights now are spent clutching my giant bulbasaur plushie and staring at my television as I listen to the grim retellings of various cases around the world.
But where does one start? The internet is a vast place with hundreds of folks covering these stories every day. Well, fret no more dear reader! Allow me to present...

In less than half an hour, Spencer Henry tackles true crime cases all while keeping it fun and entertaining. If you are in a hurry or like to get straight to the facts, he's the perfect go-to.
Eleanor Neale (YouTube)
If you fancy detail-oriented cases covering a range of topics all over the world, Eleanor is the perfect choice! She is thorough, engaging, and her accent is lovely to listen to.
Generation Why (Apple Podcasts)
Covering cases since 2012, friends Justin and Aaron have helped pioneer true crime podcasting. They examine the facts, offer the theories, and give their opinions along the way.
Kendall Rae (Youtube)
Kendall reports on recent cases and works with the victim's families to raise awareness. She is passionate about what she does. Plus, her adorable pets are often seen hanging out in the background of her videos if you ever need a palate cleanser.
Lights Out Podcast (Apple Podcasts + Youtube)
True crime, conspiracies, and alien abductions... oh my! This brother duo covers it all so no matter what you are interested in, they have something for you.
And if you would like a personal video recommendation, I suggest the following two part series covering the death of a Christian Andreacchio. It is heartbreaking but incredibly well done with the family directly involved in the project.
