Yes No Maybe So is a story of two teenagers, Jamie Goldberg and Maya Rehman. During the summer before their senior year of high school, these two teens go door to door canvassing for Rossum, a candidate running for their local

state senate. Jamie and Maya come from different backgrounds, and they have different reasons for why they want to volunteer their time to the Rossum campaign. Jamie comes from a Jewish family, has a crush on Maya, and his

cousin is the campaign manager for Rossum, making him the ideal person to coerce into volunteering. Maya comes from a Muslim family, her parents are in a trial separation, and the only way she can get a car is if she campaigns with Jamie. Throughout the book, Jamie and Maya face challenges that test their dedication to the campaign. Jamie has to learn to speak up for what he believes in, and Maya has to stay strong and support her Muslim beliefs.

Yes No Maybe So is a culturally-diverse story that addresses religious diversities and political advocacy in a heartwarming tone. Despite its romantic attributes, this novel holds universal appeal through its thematic use of activism, family drama, and cultural nuances.
