Don't know what to do this fall? Don't miss out on all the excited activities you can do during October to get your spook on! Here are 5 ideas you can participate in to get rid of your boredom!




 

  1. Carving Pumpkins


Looking for the best way to decorate your house for the fall? Look no further, just grab a pumpkin of your choice and a few utensils to start carving your very own pumpkin!


You can get inspiration of different drawings online. You can make faces, characters from your favorite TV show... the possibilities are endless! If you want a challenge, you can carve a smaller pumpkin, but if you are looking for something more easy to express your creative tastes, go for a bigger sized pumpkin! Down below are a few materials you will need in order to start carving...


  1. A knife: This will allow you to easily carve the pumpkin. There are various kinds of blades that you can use to create different cuts.

  2. A spoon: Make sure to grab a well sized spoon! This will help clean the mess and scoop out the seeds inside the pumpkin.

  3. Stencil: Using a stencil will help you get your design on paper and apply your design on the pumpkin.

  4. A pen/marker: When directly outlining your sketch on the pumpkin, make sure to use a visible pen or maker so it's visible on where you need to cut!

  5. Candles: Once you finished your masterpiece, make sure to put a candle inside to light up your work! This will help the pumpkin come to life and glow.





 

  1. Build a Scarecrow


Want to create something a bit more unique to match the fall vibe? Lets create a homemade scarecrow! Here are the steps to create your very own scarecrow, which you can add on your own front porch!


  1. Build a frame: To create the base of your scarecrow, make sure to create a cross shaped frame to hold it up.

  2. Grab a flannel/shirt: Secure a shirt of your choice to the frame, and then stuff it with any material you can use to fill it. (Ex. Straw, old clothes, newspaper)

  3. Grab a pair of pants: Tie off the ends of the pants, and then fill it just like you did with the shirt. Secure the pants onto the frame.

  4. Shoes: Add any type of footwear you want to at the bottom.

  5. Make the head: Create a head using a object of your choice (You can use a pumpkin, sacks, pots etc!). Make sure to incorporates a face onto the head and attach it on top of the frame.





 

  1. Visit A Haunted House


Itching for a good scare? Visit a local haunted house with your friends and family! The fall season is the best time to visit a local amusement park that may have their very own haunted house. Be on the lookout, as different companies, establishments, and even local owners may be hosting their very own event.


To spice things up, you can also create your very own haunted house as well! You don't need a fancy layout in order to make one, as you can start in your very own garage or backyard! Just grab a few people dressed in costumes, prepare the props and decorate. Make sure to advertise and get your friends to come visit, and be apart of the haunted house experience!





 

  1. Make Fall Scented Candles


What is the perfect way to set the ambience of the fall? Candles! Lets discuss how you can create your very own scented candles!


Materials: Grab a jar, wax, desired scents, and a wick.


  1. Place the wick at the bottom of the jar by placing hot glue at the base.

  2. Melt the wax in a heat-safe container.

  3. Mix essential oils/scents and spices (Cinnamon, vanilla, pumpkin, apple pie, etc) to the melted wax.

  4. Carefully poor the wax into the jar. Be careful, it's hot!

  5. Set the candle aside to let it cool off and dry. Wait for at least 2 hours.

  6. Once hardened, trim the wick to be at least 1/4 above the candles surface.


There you go! Now you can place these candles in your room and around the house, creating a sweet and cozy smell in preparation for the fall!




 

  1. Make Delicious Caramel Apples


Caramel apples are one of the best snack to eat during the fall! Don't miss out and create them yourself to snack on!


Ingredients: Store bought caramel, sticks, apples, heavy whipping cream, and additional toppings if desired. (Sprinkles, coconut shreds, candy, etc)


  1. Prepare the apples: Wash the apples and insert a stick in the middle of the apple.

  2. Prepare a pan to set the apples on: Line the pan with parchment paper in order to set the apples in fridge later on.

  3. Mix the caramel and whipping cream: Place both the caramel and cream into a microwave safe bowl and melt it. Make sure to stir in between intervals when microwaving. If the caramel is runny, set it off to cool so it does not drip off the apples when dipping.

  4. Dip the apples: Dip your apples into the caramel on an angle, making sure it covers the top center. Rotate and turn to coat the entirety of the apple.

  5. Add toppings: Lift the apple and let the access caramel run off, and immediately dip the apple into a bowl of your desired toppings.

  6. Set in fridge: First allow the apples to set completely, and then leave the apples in the fridge for around 30 minutes.
