Technicolor, the word itself, is defined as a series of color film processes that began around 1916, but it is really so much more than that. To appreciate the benefit of today’s 4K HD, and gorgeous sleek flat screens, we must first give our humble thanks to the beginnings of color films, beautiful in their bright saturations.
The beginning of color film started in England with Kinemacolor, but in the early 1900s America played a game of catch up with the introduction of Technicolor. If you have ever seen The Wizard of Oz, you have taken in the delight of the introduction of color, just as Dorothy does upon her arrival in Oz. While you have a little time for yourself, take a trip through the past, and enjoy these amazing depictions of color as they had never been seen before.
