Wired Rings Tutorial

Do you want to make some fun wire rings? If so then this is the tutorial to help you!

NOTE!! - If you are under 13 I would recommend an adult assisting you with this craft.

To start off, you'll need some supplies. Just letting you know that some of these things are a little pricey but, you can also find some of these things at home!

  • Wire that fits beads

  • Wire cutters

  • Different size pliers

  • Beads of your choice

  • Others depending on what you plan on making!

Under each type of ring there will be pictures with corresponding numbers to help show how to make the rings

For your rings I recommend measuring your finger that you want the ring on and finding an item with the same size to make your ring on.

Basic Ring

Start by taking a decent amount of the wire of your choice and place a bead on it, I used about a foot.

  • Place it around your cylinder item (1). Then wrap it around the back (2).

  • Wrap the wire so that one side is on top of the bead and the other is below (3).

  • Then turn those sides up and down (4).

  • Snip the wire a little bit and then wrap the wire around each side. It should look like this once you wrap it around the sides (5).

  • Snip the excess wire and fix the ends and you ring is done (6)!

Snake Ring

For this ring you will need two sizes of wire, a larger size and a smaller size. You will also need only one bead.

  • I used about 16in of the large wire. Fold the wire in half and leave a snake head loop at the top (1).

  • Then open your smaller wire but don't cut it yet. Thread it through your bead. Then wrap the small wire with the bead on it over the side of the head and then slide the bead over both ends of the wire (2).

  • Snip the connected wire and then wrap it around the other side of the head to secure the bead then snip the loose ends (3).

  • Then bend the main wire around your cylinder so it looks like a snake, leave a little excess wire and then cut (4).

  • Around the neck of your snake, just beneath the head, take a long piece of small wire and wrap it tightly around it, make sure to go over the ends of your wire when wrapping. Mine is fairly thick (5).

  • Continue wrapping the wire around the snake body until you reach then end. once at the end, curl up the end of the large wires so it looks like a hook (6).

  • Add the small wire under the hook and cut so that the small wire just rests in the hook. Now fold the hook over the rest of your wire, and your snake ring is done (7)!
