Hey everyone! So a couple days ago (Saturday, February 12th) was Global Movie Day (a.k.a National Film Day)! This a day dedicated to all forms of cinema, and has been celebrated for the past three years across the world. If you're like me and love a good book-turned-to-the-big-screen, then you'll be excited to know that there are a load of book-to-screen adaptations expected in 2022, too! In honor of this, we've compiled together a list of some of the most anticipated book-to-screen adaptation expected in 2022. Take note that some of these have a guaranteed release date in 2022 while others are simply expected to start filming or release sometime during this year. The Ms. Marvel comic series, the first Marvel comics series featuring a Muslim character as the title hero, has been deemed a trailblazing and inspirational story for everyone. The comics illustrate the story of Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager from Jersey City, New Jersey, who is trying to balance her superhuman abilities (and the duty that comes with them) with her life as an ordinary 16-year-old. This celebrated comic series will be coming to the big screens in a long awaited adaptation likely to release this summer!

Heartstopper, Volume 1 is the first graphic novel of the Heartstopper series series by Alice Oseman. The book features the journey of British teens Charlie and Nick who meet at an all-boys grammar school. What starts as a friendship between the two boys from different backgrounds and personalities becomes a blossoming story of love as Charlie and Nick learn that love sometimes has its own ways of working out and surprising you in the end. This book (and its following installments) has been a bestseller and a universally loved graphic novel that carries several important themes and messages within it while bringing a delightful story to the table for all readers! The TV adaptation is expected to be an eight episode series, although it does not have a set release date in 2022.

Sophie, a girl fit to be queen and who is devoted to good deeds, expects to become a top student at the School for Good, where all the heroes of fairytales are trained to become the people we know them as today. On the other hand, Agatha, who is the exact opposite of Sophie, is a natural fit for the School for Evil. However, in a twist of fate, Sophie is sent to the School for Evil while Agatha to the School for Good. There, the girls are thrust into two completely different worlds while the lines between good and evil start to blur.
