Young Adult (YA) fiction is one of my favorite genres to read. But sometimes we want a slightly different type of fiction or just something a little more mature. Making the jump to Adult fiction can be a challenge, there are slightly more gritty themes and a more mature voice. You don't want to dive too far into the deep end, but you're definitely looking for something more.
That is where the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), and their Alex Award Winners can help. The Alex Awards are given to ten books written for adults that have special appeal to young adults, ages 12 through 18. Whether you enjoy fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, and more, you can always find something for yourself. Check out some of the top winners from the past two years, that you can find in our Adult fiction collection.
