Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man: Marvel's Epic Revival of Their Teenage Hero

For more than 60 years, Peter Parker has been a well-known Marvel hero, especially among young adults. This past month, Marvel released a TV series on Disney+ featuring everyone's favorite web-slinger. Here is why I think Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is one of the best ways Spidey has been brought to the screen since his debut.

First of all, the unique 3D animation is a reminder of Spidey's first form of media. The comic-style shows the panel borders sometimes and looks great for intense action.

Secondly, the characters were given different backgrounds and stories like we've never seen before. For example, Norman Osborn is Peter's mentor, while in most versions of Spider-Man, he is an enemy. There are even entirely new characters like Lonnie, Nico, and Pearl!

Another amazing feature is that the series, like the original comics, tries to relate to Peter's social struggles as a teenager. For example, he tries to keep his friendships together while struggling to maintain his secret identity as Spider-Man.

Lastly, the plot twisted and turned so much and there were so many cliffhangers, leaving me always wanting more! I was lucky the episodes came in batches of two or three.

I'm not going to spoil anything for you here!

Overall, it's my favorite Marvel series to date, and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Luckily, season 2 was announced, so we're likely to see more of Peter's adventures and figure out those cliffhangers!
