Freedom Park

Looking for a breath of fresh air? Well, look no further than Freedom Park! It holds plenty of opportunities for fun activities, like a bike ride along the trails or a nice picnic near the lake. There's also a large park area for little kids and nets for volleyball. It's the perfect place to spend a nice day outside and soak up some sunlight!

Discovery Place Science

The perfect educational, hands on adventure for you! The Discovery Place Science Center holds so many different things for you to do. There are different areas with it's own thing to explore, from fish and reptiles to building stations! I went with my family and there was something for each one of us to look at. My brother loved their architecture area, my mom felt a starfish for the first time, and my dad practically lived in the hands-on area. Personally, I fell in love with the rainforest section. There’s something about staying in a room with the birds chirping and the different leaves surrounding you that’s just so peaceful. It's the perfect place to have fun while also learning something new!

Carowinds

The one and only: Carowinds! I can’t write about places to go in Charlotte and just forget about the beloved amusement park of North Carolina. It’s got some of the best rides out there, including the Fury and the Intimidator. Not a roller coaster fan? Don’t worry, neither am I. But there’s plenty of other rides that aren’t roller coasters, like the Rock “N” Roller and the Windseeker. There’s also a range of roller coasters, with some being smaller and less intense than others (Those are probably the ones I’m gonna start off with- baby steps you know?). There’s also a variety of food available there, from pizza and fries to the beloved Chick-fil-a and Panda Express as well (who doesn’t love a good orange chicken?). They’ve also got a waterpark called Carolina Harbor that opens up during the summer (May 26th to be exact) with several water slides and the perfect lazy river to relax on! With so many fun rides and games, how can you get bored?
